New Zealand Ready To Host IPL 2020:- With the number of coronavirus cases growing in India, the Board of Control of Cricket in India (BCCI) is left puzzled about conducting IPL 2020 which was planned to commence later this year. It is almost clear that IPL 2020 cannot be conducted in India if the situations continue to be alarming. UAE and Sri Lanka already made it clear that they are ready to host the tournament as it cannot be held in the country with the growing number of coronavirus cases. New Zealand is the latest country to offer to host IPL 2020. The country is now coronavirus free and all the restrictions are lifted.
ICC already postponed the T20 World Cup to 2022 to give a window for IPL 2020. BCCI wanted to conduct IPL 2020 from late September till November. BCCI is keen to conduct IPL 2020 in India and if this doesn't permit, IPL 2020 may be moved to an international location that would be safe and comfortable for everyone. IPL 2020 should be conducted in a country that would match the timings of the Indian viewers as they contribute to the majority of the audience. BCCI will take a call at the earliest on this. A high profile meeting would be chaired with the franchises of all the teams before taking the final call on the tournament.
