Coca Cola Likely To Stay Away From IPL 2020:- With the coronavirus pandemic, IPL 2020 has been delayed. BCCI is in plans to conduct the event at any cost starting from September or October this year. IPL 2020 is likely to lose one of its biggest advertisers Coca Cola India. Coca Cola happened to be one of the biggest sponsors and spenders of IPL every year. As BCCI is in plans to conduct IPL 2020 between September and November, Coca Cola decided to skip their plans to be a part of IPL 2020.
Coca Cola is in plans to scale down it's annual advertising after it was badly hit due to coronavirus. Coca Cola spent Rs 135 crores last year along with Star Sports. Coca Cola was in plans to renew their on-air partnership but they decided to stay away this year. Coca Cola signed an official beverage partnership with Kolkata Knight Riders team. But the plans are kept on hold. The April-June quarter contributes more than half of the annual soft drinks sale in the country. Advertising and marketing in this season would bring a huge boost to the brand.
With the coronavirus outbreak and businesses badly shattered, Coca Cola missed the summer season and decided to stay away from IPL 2020. Coca Cola is also having 5 years partnership with ICC.
