He surpassed MS Dhoni's record of 27 test wins with 28 wins in just 48 tests. India registered 257 runs victory against West Indies in the second test and raced to the top with 120 points in the ICC World Test Championship table.

Virat Kohli as a captain won 28 matches and lost 10 matches after he represented 48 tests. MS Dhoni won 27 matches out of the 60 matches with 18 losses and 15 draws. Sourav Ganguly is third in the table with 21 victories in just 49 matches. India is currently touring in West Indies and swept the test series already. West Indies lost the match by 257 runs and tumbled down for 210 while chasing a huge total of 468 runs. Virat Kohli is at the top of the table with a win percentage of 58.33. MS Dhoni is second with 45 percent win rate.
