Day finalized to pick India team for Australia tour

For the limited-overs tour of Australia, which is going to be started on January 12th, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will meet in New Delhi, this Saturday, to pick the new India team.

Announcing the same, a BCCI release said, “The All-India Senior Selection Committee of the BCCI will meet on Saturday at 5:00 p.m., 19th December, 2015 at the Hotel ITC Maurya, Delhi, to select the India team for the forthcoming tour of Australia.”

India’s short three-week tour of Australia will have five One Day Internationals and three T20 Internationals, which will commence on January 12 and ends on January 31st.

As a part of the tour, India will play matches at all major venues like MCG, SCG, WACA, Adelaide Oval and Gabba in Brisbane.

Sources say that, Dhoni would be retained as the captain of the squad, though India had been beaten both in ODI and T20 series by the visiting South African side.

The BCCI sources say that, the squad is expected to leave for Australia on January 6th.

Schedule:

ODI series: January 12 - WACA Ground, Perth; January 15 - Gabba, Brisbane; January 17 - Melbourne Cricket Ground; January 20 - Manuka Oval, Canberra; January 23 - Sydney Cricket Ground.

T20 Internationals: January 26 - Adelaide Oval; January 29 - Melbourne Cricket Ground; January 31 -Sydney Cricket Ground.
