Shoaib Malik’s swashbuckling century after six years against Zimbabwe, which helped the hosts to register a 41 runs victory in Lahore has thrilled his tennis-star wife Sania Mirza. Malik’s 70-ball century helped Pakistan to score a massive 375 for three in 50 overs. He scored 112 runs off 76 deliveries.
The 33-year-old and last played an ODI back in June 2013 during the Champions Trophy against India. Ignored ever since, the former Pakistan skipper struggled a lot to get a place in the team while Sania went from strength to strength, winning tennis titles across the globe.
Mirza couldn’t resist her anxiety as her husband made a sound knock. Malik scored 14 runs in the last two T20 Internationals but the latest performance is definitely a silver lining. The Indian tennis queen took to twitter to express her sheer happiness.
This is the first international series for Pakistan at home, since the 2009 terror attacks on the Sri Lankan team. The team has won the T20 series comfortably and is in lead with 1-0 in the three match ODI series.
On the other hand, Malik also has been supportive of Mirza's sky rocketing tennis career and has never delayed to congratulate her on her recent spate of success.
