U.S is the home to 3.2 million Indian origin citizens which makes them ethnically a significant vote bank and for the Indian diaspora people of U.S, the key issue of presidential election is economic recovery .
For example take Krishna Polinini who runs a Grocery store quite identical that of our own kirana shop and has an another job as an I.T professional in Atlanta says "if you go on the street and speak to people, they are worried that they may lose their jobs and even if you look at social benefit, the government is not able to provide them properly because they don't have money,"
Ironically , even though Obama is perceived to be popular among the N.R.I community, which include people ranging from Wall Street, Silicon valley heavyweights to "Mango -people" just perusing their American dream, low key people like Mr. Polinini favors Mitt Romney as he feels the next president will cut taxes and will generate more jobs.
But of course the "Change Man" Obama is still popular among Indians. Jay Dahir a restauranteur says he is in favor of giving a second chance to the current president as he has been the General fighting against the downturn for last four years.
The economic turmoil has left many people in huge debts and they want somebody to help them sail through .So for the obvious reasons the divide of opinion is high regarding the presidential election but one thing is pretty sure that now people want a man who can stop their dollar dream fading away.
Hence be it Obama or Romney, economic prosperity is the key..!
