Tollywood actor Balakrishna was in Dallas for raising funds for Basavatarakam Cancer Hospital. He has called upon the NRI fraternity in the United States to come forward and join hands for the noble cause. Balakrishna hailed the Telugus in America for having worked hard and reached heights besides spreading the name and fame of Telugus by organizing annual conventions.

Speaking on the significance of Basavatarakam Hospital, he said his mother late Basavatarakam suffered from cancer and lost her life due to improper medical facilities for cancer. With an aim to ensure proper medical facilities to cancer patients, late NTR established this hospital, added Balakrishna. He has also mentioned Basavatarakam was the only hospital, which became the first ever cancer hospital cum research centre for cancer.  The meeting wooed the audience as Balakrishna delivered some punch dialogues from different movies.
