Whole Nation has been praising Olympic silver medalist PV Sindhu for her outstanding performance. Telangana government has organized rousing state reception for Sindhu whose flight landed in Hyderabad's Rajiv Gandhi International Airport from Brazil on Monday morning.
Sindhu was accompanied by her coach Pullela Gopichand. Her parents welcomed their daughter and scenes of jubilation and loud cheers from scores of people were heard.
Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Mohd Mahmood Ali and some ministers from Telangana and Andhra Pradesh were also present at the airport.
Sindhu showed her silver medal, and also waved to the cheering crowd from the open-top-motorcade. The procession began from the airport towards Gachibowli stadium, where the Telangana government has organised a gala felicitation in honour of the star shuttler.
Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, after chairing a Cabinet meeting on Saturday said, "a grand welcome would be organised on her arrival in the city on August 22".
Government has announced Rs 5 crore cash reward to Sindhu, a 1,000 square yard housing site near the Pullela Gopichand Badminton Academy in Gachibowli and suitable government job, if she is willing.
Rahul Bojja Hyderabad Collector, GHMC Commissioner B Janardhan Reddy along with heads of various departments reviewed the welcome arrangements and also inspected the routes from where the motorcade will pass. Government also announced cash prize of Rs 1 crore to coach P Gopichand.
