Fire Birds’s poor performance harmed them as they got defeated by Ice Divas by a massive margin of 10 points in match 4 of Women’s Pro Kabaddi League on Wednesday at Sree Kanteevara Stadium in Bengaluru. Divas’ aggressiveness with the topping of intelligence helped them to finish the match on a winning note.
A raider from Ice Divas, Meenal Jadhav cemented, Divas’ position by scoring a super raid at the 7th minute of the match and took the lead to 8-2 from already leading 3-1 in the initial stages of the first half. Divas attacked again in the 11th minute by scoring their first all out and took a massive 9-point lead 11-2. At the half time, the score was 14-5 in favor of the Divas.
Later, countering in the second half, Fire Birds score four raid points and tried to cut the deficit as score read 8-16 before the skipper Mamtha Poojari scored her first raid points in the 24th minute taking the score ahead with 11-17. However, Divas’ back to back super tackles in 25th and 28th minute almost turned the match towards their side as they took an unbeaten lead 22-13.
Ice Divas Skipper Abhilasha Mhatre scored five raid points and helped her team to win the game. In the earlier match, Fire Birds had defeated Ice Divas 25-12 and Divas paid them back in the similar fashion on Wednesday. Ice Divas have also managed to reach the top in the points table.
