The defending champions Patna Pirates, with the help of their raider Pradeep Narwal’s outstanding performance of scoring 18 raid points, registers their second win of the fourth season of Star Sports Pro Kabaddi League on Wednesday.

In the second half, Patna managed to continue their form and took a lead of 27-17 despite Rishank Devadiga’s super raid for U Mumba in the second half as they were trailing 27-31. U Mumba did perform well at the ending stage of the game as they managed to get a lead 34-33 thanks to Devadiga’s superb performance, although they couldn’t manage to get the victory as Pradeep Narwal came for the rescue and scored two points in the final raid which took the final score to 36-34, a close victory for Patna Pirates.

U Mumba skipper Anup Kumar was shown a Green Card by a referee for talking during a raid at the sixth minute of the first half.

Earlier in the first half, the raider Pradeep Narwal’s outstanding play gave an inch more to Patna than U Mumba despite some great efforts by their defenders in the first half, especially by Rakesh Kumar who helped the team to get their first super tackle. U Mumba scored four super tackles in the first half which was led by their defender Jeeva Kumar. However, Patna Pirates managed to get an all out in the 17th minute and took the lead 14-12. They finished the first half at 16-14 with the help of Pradeep Narwal’s seven raid points in the first phase of the game.

With the win Patna Pirates has increased their ranking and has climbed to the second spot with 100% win percentage, while U Mumba has dropped down to sixth.
