Alliance Air is no longer the subsidiary of Air India:- Alliance Air is no longer a subsidiary of Air India announced Tata Group that owns Air India. Tata Group said that the bookings and queries related to Alliance Air will not be handled by them starting from April 15th 2022. "The tickets of Air India with a 4-digit flight number starting with '9' or 3-digit flight number starting with '9I' belong to Alliance Air. Alliance Air operates with a fleet size of 20 as per the official website. Tata Group controls Air India through Talace which has 50 percent stake in the ground handling firm Air India SATS. The Centre transferred 100 percent shares of Air India to the Tatas. Natarajan Chandrasekaran, chairman of Tata Sons is appointed as the Chairman of Air India this year. Former Turkish Airlines head Mehmet Ilker Ayci declined the offer of the Tata Group to be the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director for Air India. Tata Group now has three airlines: Air India, Air Asia and Vistara. There are 4400 domestic and 1800 international landing and parking slots in India and 900 slots abroad.
