Indian Railways In A Deal With E-commerce Firms:- Indian Railways is one of the platforms used to transport essential goods. With the social life coming to a halt, Indian Railways is in plans to ink deals with e-commerce firms to transport goods and other essentials. The high capacity parcel van was launched on Linke Hofmann Busch platform early this year. Indian Railways is said to have manufactured 12 more specially designed parcel vans to ensure a smooth supply of the essentials to all the cities across the country. The parcel vans can run at 130 kmph and are manufactured at Kapurthala based Rail Coach Factory (RCF).

Each coach has a capacity of 24 tonnes with foldable 2-tier luggage racks to transport the goods. This will generate enough revenues for the railways. The coaches come with sliding doors and collapsible partitions for rapid loading and unloading. 35 more coaches are currently made and they will be ready in a week said a senior official who works at RCF. It is heard that Indian Railways is in touch with e-commerce giants like Amazon and Flipkart to transport the parcels from a city to city. E-commerce parcel vans will be developed to help reduce the transportation time and they can carry huge luggage. All these e-commerce vans will run at a speed of 160 kmph and they come with a GPS tracker.
