Airtel, Vodafone Idea and Jio to Hike Mobile Tariffs:- On Sunday, Bharti Airtel along with Vodafone Idea announced that the mobile tariffs will be increased from 15 percent to 40 percent in different states of the country. The new plans are made available from today for all the prepaid subscribers across the country. From 50 paise per day, the plans of Airtel came up by Rs 2.85 per day on all the calling benefit plans. “Our new mobile plans offer tremendous value to our customers and are backed by a superior network experience on Airtel’s nationwide 4G" said Airtel in a statement.
After this, Reliance Jio announced new plans for unlimited voice and data plans. The plans will be applicable from December 6th 2019 said Jio. “Although the new all-in-one plans will be priced up to 40 percent higher, staying true to its promise of being customer-first, Reliance Jio customers will get up to 300 percent more benefits,” said Reliance Jio in a statement. Vodafone Idea reported a massive pre-tax loss of Rs 36,959 crore in the second quarter of the year. The Supreme Court ordered the telecom companies to pay Rs 1.4 trillion in the past statutory dues. Soon after this, Airtel, Vodafone Idea and Jio had to increase the tariffs.
