Maruthi Suzuki hikes car prices

India's leading four wheeler seller, Maruthi Suzuki has hiked the prices of cars by a margin of Rs 32,000 with the excise duty benefit ending from December 31st. The price hike will effective right away and the range of hike depends upon the model. The company's top seller Alto got costly by Rs 8,500 to  Rs 12,700 according to the variants.

The new sensation of Maruthi Suzuki, Celerio had a price increase from Rs 13,600 to Rs 17,200 while the most popular car, Swift will now cost extra from Rs. 15,850 to about Rs. 25,150. Maruthi Suzuki which launched Ciaz sedan to bounce back in this segment, got a hike from Rs 22,450 to Rs 32,000 to its ex-showroom price.

Already Honda and Hyundai automanufacturers have increased the prices, Maruthi Suzuki has joined late to this list. According to the stats, car prices have gone by nearly 4 percent. More hike is expected and it depends on the RBI Police Rate Review meeting and Union Budget 2015 which will be revealed in February.
