AirAsia to fly from June 12

AirAsia India will begin its operations in the country from June 12 and ticket sales are starting on Friday i.e, May 30. AirAsia has been granted flying license by aviation regulatory DGCA earlier this month and so the operations are set to begin soon.

The news has been confirmed by AirAsia CEO Tony Fernandes through his micro blogging site. AirAsia has been preparing its ground-work for the launch since nine months and in between got into some legal hurdles.

As promised earlier, the AirAsia will offer low-cost airfares and is likely to concentrate more in Tier-II cities. AirAsia India is a joint venture of AirAsia and Tata Sons Arun Bhatia’s Telestra Tradeplace.
