The Delhi High Court on Monday said Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG) can audit the accounts of private telecom companies under relevant provisions of the law and Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) Act. In 2010 telecom tribunal passed this decision of auditing private companies accounts and Association of Unified Telecom Service Providers (AUSPI) and Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI) filed against the decision of telecom tribunal.
The Court also reject AUSPI and COAI petition and they claimed that they are abiding the rules of TRAI. This latest verdict will the help the Aam Aadmi party government which has handed the power sector to CAG for auditing.
