The Mahindra Reva e2o is having starting problems when it comes to market entry. Mahindra Reva Electric Vehicles Pvt Ltd has decided to postpone the launch of their next generation car once again. This time the delay has been blamed on the new National Electric Mobility Mission Plan (NEMMP) by the central government which is expected to offer subsidy schemes to the buyers.
The Founder and the Chief of Strategy and Technology has maintained that they were all set to launch the vehicle commercially but the government policy that is expected to roll out this month end is making the delay. “We are ready with the final product and have secured all clearances for its commercial launch. However, we have postponed the launch due to the delay in the announcement of the subsidy scheme in the new policy,” Chetan Maini said talking to Business Standard.
He adds that the government has been delaying the announcement of NEMPP, their launch is inevitably suffering. If the announcement is made, new car buyers would be eligible for certain incentives and subsidies.
Since it is expected that the NEMPP would be finalized and on paper by the end of Jan, February could mark the commercial launch of the Reva e2o.
