The best online megastore in India, Flipkart has announced a new category on the digital media section, Flyte, eBooks. The Flyte digital store allows you to download more than one lakh books instantly either on your PC or tablets and phones running on Android via a special application. The Flyte eBooks however can be read only on Android running devices.

There is a selection of one lakh books already and the numbers are increasing. Over 4000 titles can also be downloaded for free including the popular classics like Great Expectations, Brothers Karmazov and many others. A free sample of every book is also available for download.

They are also making efforts to develop a Windows 8 app to embrace the latest trent in the town too.

Sameer Nigam, vice president, Digital, at Flipkart.com said, "We have a growing, tech-savvy reader base that is constantly on the go - and they are looking for options to buy and read their favourite books on their mobile devices instantly. In the USA and European markets, which have been early adopters of eBooks, the market share for digital trade books is currently at 50 per cent."

One book can be accessed from six devices which would sync the reading location for all the devices. Highlight, take notes and search from the text of any number of your book marks with the android application for Flyte.
