Nippon automaker, Honda on Friday revealed its plans to launch the first diesel car from Honda, Honda Amaze. Honda Amaze would be an entry level sedan priced aggressively developed on the platform of the hatchback Brio.
The car is expected to be launched in the market next year in India. By the end of December Thailand would have the all new Honda Amaze on its roads. However, the benefits of diesel would be applicable only in India as Thailand would receive only the petrol variant, at least initially.
"In India, the Honda Amaze will be available with a petrol engine and a newly-developed diesel engine and will be positioned in the entry-level sedan segment for the Indian market," the company mentioned in its statement.
It also said that the pricing would be affordable since it would be produced by local sourcing and production; thus increasing cost competitiveness.
