Mahindra Reva Plant rated Platinum by IGBC

The Mahindra Reva has gained control with a little over 50% in the stakes of Reva Electric Company in 2010 and their plant which is yet to begin in this August has been rated platinum by the Indian Green Building Council.

Pawan Goenka the president of the automotive and the farm equipment sectors Mahindra & Mahindra said that the Mahindra Reva was all about developing the automobiles of the future with sustainable living as their primary goal. They aim at clean and green manufacturing facilities and have tried to set new benchmark with their committment in the automobile industry. The IGBC Platinum Certification, he said, would be a great inpiration that would allow them to envision a cleaner tomorrow.

It was a great delightment to be the receipients of the platinum certification from a very highly renowned organization like IGBC, Chetan Maini, founder of the chief strategy and technology, Mahindra Reva Electric Vehicles said. He also added that they have taken the highest care to ensure that their new plant is a sustainable facility and that it conformed to all the universal norms and benchmarks that have been set by the IGBC.

IGBC is a rating system that grades the newer and existing manufacturing plants depending on how well the mandatory requirements are satisfied apart from several other factors like site selection and planning, water, energy and material conservation, indoor environment quality, occupational health, innovations and design process. The Reva NXR is expected to set a global benchmark for better, safer and practical electric vehicle
