eBay all set to open new office in Bengaluru

Online retail major eBay India has said that it had plans for setting up a development centre in Bangalore to boost its business further. Over 1,000 candidates would be recruited for different positions in the next three years, informed the company. It is known that eBay is having its office in Chennai.

In a statement, eBay said the new facility in Bangalore will have multiple centres of excellence nad house technologies from PayPal as well as eBay Marketplaces.  PayPal general manager, Anupam Pahuja said: "PayPal is growing at a phenomenal rate globally, as we continue to execute on our bold vision of re-imagining money. To support this growth, we are looking to tap into the large pool of software engineering talent in Bangalore to come innovate with us and create the future of commerce."

The general manager of eBay marketplaces, Rajesh Ramachandran said: "India centre plays a strategic role in global product and technology innovation. The Bangalore Centre will bring in significant thought leadership to drive critical business initiatives."

All in all, the idea of setting up a new centre in Bangalore appears to be one of the ideal proposals by the company and centre in Bangalore would presumably help the company’s market in southern part of India although it had a centre in Chennai.(phani)
