Sakshi Malik Gets Grand Welcome in Delhi

Everyone now days is only talking about two Indian girls i.e P V Sindhu and Sakshi Malik who won medal in Rio Olympics. Whole nation is proud of them and are congratulating them for their victory. Sakshi Malik who won bronze medal in freestyle wrestling at Rio Olympics arrived in Delhi from Rio de Janeiro. She had a grand welcome on Wednesday morning. A reception will be organized for the wrestler at Bahadurgarh and at her village Mokhra Khas in Rohtak district on Wednesday.

According to reports, Malik said “she was amazed at the reception she received on landing at Delhi airport.”

“Poore Hindustan ne mera saath diya hai, main sab ko thank you kehna chahti hun (The whole country has supported me, I want to thank everyone for it),” Malik said.

“Aa rahi hoon main, apne des apne ghar! (I am coming back, to my country, to my home),” Sakshi tweeted earlier on Tuesday.

She also posted pictures of a sumptuous breakfast which she had in Rio. “A proper breakfast! How I have missed you!,” she tweeted.

Manohar Lal Khattar, Haryana chief minister will felicitate Sakshi at Bahadurgarh in Jhajjar district. Haryana sports minister Anil Vij accompanied Sakshi on her return flight.

A cash award of Rs 2.5 crore might be presented to Sakshi by Chief Minister once she reaches Bahadurgarh.

Giving details of the grand reception planned for Sakshi, Jagdeep Singh said, “chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar will travel to Bahadurgarh to honour her. Cash award of Rs 2.5 crore for her bronze medal effort is also likely to be given to her at Bahadurgarh itself.”

Earlier, Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar had called up Sakshi’s father to congratulate the family for their daughter’s historic feat at Rio Olympic Games.

Sakshi became the first woman wrestler in India to win an Olympic medal with her bronze in the 58kg freestyle event at Rio earlier this month.

India’s other medallist, silver-medal winning badminton player PV Sindhu, has already received a grand homecoming, first from the Telangana government and then from the Andhra Pradesh government.

On the other hand a man was arrested under the IT Act for allegedly making objectionable remarks against Sakshi Malik and her religion on social media.
