UK’s First Pregnant Man Gives Birth To Baby Girl:- A medical wonder has been witnesses by Britain, when a pregnant man (21) has delivered a baby girl who is healthy and happy.
Hayden Cross is the man...err..woman who made this unthinkable happened. Hayden was biologically female (named as Paige) who later opted for sex-transition to become male. He shocked the nation in January when he revealed he was four months pregnant after finding a sperm donor on Facebook. Hayden is a former Asda employee.
For more than three years, he has been living legally as a man, taking malehormones - although put that on hold when he found out he was pregnant. On June 16, at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital, he has given birth to a daughter, named Trinity-Leigh Louise. The members of Hayden’s family were delighted, and had a double reason to celebrate.
After his mother Christine Edgeworth had her fifth child, he had given birth 48 hours later.
Hayden’s grandmother Pam Edgeworth said: “I am delighted. I became a grandmother again and a great-grandmother within 48 hours. Both mothers and babies are well.”
The news has been met with mixed reactions in Gloucester.
Some have said, despite Hayden being legally recognized as a man, they still class him as a woman. But there has also been support in some corners.
One Heather Martin-Goff said on our Facebook page: “Everyone worrying about this baby and it's future....why don’t you ensure its a brighter one full of acceptance and friendship?”
“Instead of judgment and criticism? Your comments are going to teach the next generation and create the bullies which this child will fear. Or will your children be taught that humans are complicated and science is fascinating and because of that their friend has an amazing parent?”
Gav Preedy added: “Congratulations to him. He has lived as a man for 2 years so he’s classed as a man. Man or women the baby will be loved, be brought up in a family that cares and fair play to him.”
Emma Bishop also said: “What does it matter they are both happy and healthy, and what difference dose it make we all want to be happy he has found his happiness leave him them it!!”
