New trends begin all over the world but when there is a weird trend, be sure that it is always in Korea or Japan. The latest trend is a "Potato Party" in the fast food restaurants like Mc Donalds. What is a potato party you ask?
Binge eating on potato junk foods like chips, French fries etc in a restaurant is the simplest definition of a potato party but don't underestimate just yet. The popular trend especially among the teens has gone out of control. They order nothing but French fries and lots of French fries as many as 20 trays of them and try to compete against each other as to who can eat more.
Starting in Japan after an Mc Donald store put up discount of French fries, teens and youngsters made no mistake in making the most of the offer.
Later in South Korea, kids and teens started to catch the drift and over did it. They went to a level where the managers of the restaurants had to kick them out of the place for ordering too many French fries.
For a normal person, one large fries from McD would be one fourth the total calorific intake that is required for a man per day. Imagine kids gobbling fries that are 10 times or more their required diet intake? It has also been proved that the high junk food diet has led to several hormonal changes in the body leading girls to mature as early as 8 years old. What will the future effects of the condition be in South Korea?
