Vistara pilot crisis: 38 flights cancelled:- According to a PTI report, Vistara is expected to cancel around 70 flights on Tuesday, following the cancellation of 50 flights the previous day. Reports from TV sources indicate that these cancellations will include 15 flights from Mumbai, 12 from Delhi, and 11 from Bengaluru. In response to these cancellations and the inconvenience caused to passengers, the civil aviation ministry has requested a detailed report from Vistara regarding the cancellations and the measures being taken to address the situation. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has also instructed the airline to provide a daily report on flight cancellations and delays. The DGCA officials are closely monitoring the situation to ensure that Vistara is providing necessary assistance to passengers and minimizing the inconvenience caused by the cancellations and delays.

This situation arises from a shortage of pilots, many of whom have reported sick in protest against salary reductions. Reports suggest that Vistara has warned that pilots who do not agree to the revised pay structure will not be included in the merger with Air India. A Vistara spokesperson has stated that the airline has decided to temporarily reduce the number of flights in order to maintain adequate connectivity across their network. Vistara has expressed their apologies for the flight cancellations and delays. The authorities have announced that normal operations will resume soon, but they have not provided any additional information. In addition to the cancellation of 50 flights, a further 160 services were delayed on Monday.
