Extension of the Metro to the old city is the long time demand. All India Majilis-e-Ittehadul Musimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi has welcomed the decision of KCR. He said that this will help public transport and also bring more tourism.
The first phase of Metro was part of a 72 km stretch from MGBS to Falaknuma, a stretch of 5.5km green line that is pending for a couple of years when the other 67 km was completed and operational. The pending project is because of various reasons like property acquisition or demand for change of route or religious heritage structures. Now the delay has come to an end and the metro work will soon be resumed.
But now people realized how Metro really helps the connectivity. Connectivity from Falaknuma to MGBS is a really important one, said one of the senior officers.
