KCR's announcement on GO 111 creating ripples in Telangana:- The Telangana government has been keen to repeal the GO 111 and this triggered debates about conserving the two biggest lakes of the Telangana capital. Spread across thousands of acres, KCR made an announcement that the GO 111 will be repealed very soon. The government's decision will now delay the finalization of the master plan for the Hyderabad Metropolitan Region by a year. KCR asked the Administrative Staff College of India (ASCI) to come up with the master plan for the Hyderabad Metropolitan Region three years ago but the process got delayed due to various reasons. The officials are asked to prepare the master plan in three months as per the instructions of the Chief Minister.

The authorities of the Urban Development and the Municipal Administration said that the master plan was kept on hold as the government is keen to revoke the GO 111. The draft of the master plan is expected to be ready in the next 18 months. The master plan will have three parts: areas in ORR, areas beyond ORR and areas outside ORR. The discussions are going on about the drainage, drinking water, traffic, transport, power distribution in the metropolitan region of Hyderabad. All the polluting industries across the limits of Hyderabad will be shifted from the city and special industrial estates are planned. All these industrial estates will be converted into green belts. KCR is expected to review the developments very soon.
