Vijaysai Reddy's Padayatra Against Vizag Steel Plant Privatization:- The entire state of Andhra Pradesh is protesting against the Centre's move of privatizing the Vizag Steel Plant. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy penned a letter to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to reconsider his decision on the Vizag Steel Plant. Janasena Chief Pawan Kalyan camped in the national capital and met several leaders of the Centre and explained about the situations in the state. YSRCP MP Vijaysai Reddy made some sensational comments in the Parliament house that AP government will acquire the Vizag Steel Plant if it is privatized.
Vijaysai Reddy today announced that he would be taking up padayatra soon against the move of the Centre. He said that a roadmap is prepared to cover all the constituencies of Vizag on February 20th. Vijaysai Reddy will cover 23 km in the limits of Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC). He will start his padayatra from GVMC gate to the Steel Plant in Kurmanapalem. A public meeting is planned at the Vizag Steel Plant gate once he is done with the foot march.
On the other side, TDP leader Palla Srinivas Rao took indefinite strike against the privatization of Vizag Steel Plant with the slogan 'Visakha Steel Andhrula Hakku'. Palla Srinivas Rao is rushed to a private hospital in Vizag but he refused to take up the treatment and is continuing his fast. TDP Chief Chandra Babu Naidu called off for a strike and state-wide agitation on February 18th.
