AP BJP Leaders Arrested ahead of Ramatheertham Protest:- There are high tension situations across Andhra Pradesh after a series of Hindu temples are attacked and the idols of Hindu gods are vandalized. The protests reached peaks after a 400-year-old Lord Rama idol was vandalized recently in Vizianagaram's Ramatheertham. TDP leader and Chief Chandra Babu Naidu rushed to Ramatheertham and staged a protest against the government for not taking stringent action against the culprits. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy condemned the incident and eleven people have been arrested in relation with this case.

BJP and Janasena leaders announced of staging a protest in Ramatheertham today. Most of the AP BJP leaders are house arrested before the massive rally and protest today. BJP President Somu Veerraju along with several other BJP leaders are arrested today when they attempted to reach Ramatheertham. The cops arrested the leaders citing prohibitory orders under Section 30. MP CM Ramesh along with Kamineni Srinivas protested on the roads of Vizag after their tour to Ramatheertham was disrupted. Kanna Lakshmi Narayana, P Vishnukumar Raju were kept under house arrest.
