Dilli Chalo: Lathicharge and Tear Gas Against Farmers at Delhi BorderThe Delhi cops had to lathi charge and impose tear gas on the farmers this morning at the Haryana and Delhi border after the farmers continued 'Dilli Chalo' march which was against the central farm laws. Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh urged the Centre to initiate talks with the Kisan Union leaders to prevent unexpected incidents and tense situations across the borders of the national capital. He tweeted saying "Central govt needs to show statesmanship and accept the farmers demand for assured MSP, which is the basic right of every farmer. Why wait till December?". The Delhi Police deployed security personnel across the border to prevent farmers from entering into the capital.

Sand-laden trucks along with water cannons are used along with a barbed wire for fencing at the Singhu border. Metro services from NCR regions to Delhi are suspended today. The Samyukt Kisan Morcha along with All India Kisan Sangharsh Coordination Committee (AIKSCC) issued a statement that over 50,000 farmers will enter the Delhi border by Thursday evening. Protests erupted in Rohtak after a 45-year-old farmer passed away in a road accident during the Dilli March. The Haryana government set up hurdles to stop the march. The farmers are now demanding a compensation of Rs 20 lakhs from the Haryana government.

The situations are quite tense across the Sindhu border in Delhi after the farmers broke a barricade. The cops replied with a tear gas.
