Bengaluru Violence: Ex-Congress Mayor R Sampath Raj Arrested:- The Bengaluru violence incident created a sensation across the country and several people involved in the riots are taken into custody. Former Congress Mayor R Sampath Raj who was a crucial suspect in the case was arrested during the early hours of today. The Bengaluru violence case left four people dead and dozens injured. Sampath Raj is the Congress Corporator from Devara Jeevanahalli municipal ward. He was arrested in Bengaluru. He was admitted in a private hospital after tested positive for coronavirus and Sampath Raj escaped from the hospital. His close aides Riyazuddin and Abdul Rakeeb Zakir helped Sampath Kumar to escape from the hospital.
The Bengaluru violence incident took place on August 11th and over 3000 people participated in the rampage damaging several public properties and vehicles. It all started over a social media post by the nephew of Pulakeshinagar Congress MLA R Akhanda Srinivasa Murthy. The two police stations Devara Jeevanahalli and Kadugondanahalli have been attacked and destroyed. Sampath Raj is charged after he wanted to finish off the MLA with the help of his aides and few others. He turned quite crucial in this case and was taken into custody after weeks of search.
