Hyderabad Metro Ridership Witnesses A Steady Rise:- With the arrival of the coronavirus pandemic, the entire country is shut in the name of lockdown. Though the people started roaming after weeks, the public transport continued to remain shut. The buses, trains, metros and other means of public transport resumed operations recently. Hyderabad Metro incurred huge losses which was on track and were witnessing huge footfalls. The Hyderabad Metro resumed operations in September and the footfalls have not been satisfactory initially. The rides too have been limited last month and Hyderabad Metro kept increasing them slowly as days passed.
Going with the current ridership, Hyderabad Metro witnessed decent footfalls in the recent days. Hyderabad Metro registered 1.33 lakh passenger rides on Saturday which is decent. On weekends, it used to cross 2 lakh footfalls generally. The same with Delhi Metro is said to be 14.79 lakhs. When compared to the other metros of the country, Hyderabad Metro is doing well and stands next to Delhi currently. Hyderabad Metro also introduced Metro Suvarna offers and the commuters are given discounted fares where there is a slash in the price. The ridership increased by 30% percent in the recent weeks said Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited Managing Director NVS Reddy.
Several commuters say that Hyderabad Metro is the best and safe mode of transportation and the discounted fares brought a rise in the footfalls for Hyderabad Metro.
