Arnab Goswami Arrested in a Suicide Case closed two years ago:- Top journalist and Republic TV owner, editor-in-chief Arnab Goswami has been arrested today by the Maharashtra police in connection with a 2018 suicide case. The arrest of Arnab Goswami created a sensation across the country and the suicide case was closed a couple of years ago. An architect and his mother died of suicide a couple of years ago due to the non-payment of dues by Arnab Goswami's Republic TV. Anvay Naik, an interior designer along with his mother Kumud Naik committed suicide and they were found dead in their bungalow in Alibaug in May 2018. The post mortem report of Anvay said that he committed suicide but his Kumud's report said that she has been strangled and was not a suicide.

The cops believed that Anvay killed her before he committed suicide. Anvay wrote a suicide note in English which said that the payment dues are the reason for his extreme step and the payments are not cleared by three companies: Arnab Goswami of Republic TV, Feroz Shaikh of IcastX/Skimedia and Nitish Sarda of Smartworks. All these three firms owed Rs 83 lakhs, Rs 4 crores and Rs 55 lakhs to Naik. He was struggling to repay the money to contractors and he committed suicide. After investigating the case, the Raigad police closed the case as they did not find the names of the accused in the suicide note.

Anvay’s daughter approached the Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh and asked him to reopen the case. The case has been transferred to CID this year and Arnab is arrested in this case today.
