Bharat Biotech Aims to Launch Covaxin in June 2021:- The novel coronavirus pandemic is having a huge impact all over and lakhs of people lost their lives. There are several vaccines that are in various stages of clinical trials. Several top scientists of the globe are working hard to bring the vaccine for this deadly virus at the earliest. Bharat Biotech International Limited has been in plans to launch its coronavirus vaccine named Covaxin and the trials are going on. As per the update, Bharat Biotech announced that the vaccine would be launched in June next year. Bharat Biotech said that if the government intends they can proceed and give the emergency authorization.

The third phase of human trials of Covaxin will start next month and will be conducted on 26,000 volunteers aged 18 years. The trials will be conducted in 30 sites across the country. The subject expert committee (SEC) of the Central Drugs Standards Control Organisation approved the trials for the third phase of Covaxin. The results of the phase 2 trials are not available for the public and Bharat Biotech received approval from SEC on Tuesday. Bharat Biotech declined to reveal the price of the vaccine and it confirmed that the discussions are going on currently and it depends on various factors.

Bharat Biotech is spending Rs 150 crores on the third phase of the clinical trials and the new facility will be operational and Bharat Biotech will invest Rs 120-150 crores. It is heard that Bharat Biotech will manufacture 150 million doses per annum in its Hyderabad plant very soon.
