Coronavirus in India may be Controlled by February:- A panel of ten members headed by M Vidya Sagar, an IIT Professor claims that the coronavirus pandemic in the country will come to a control by February. He said if all the safety protocols are strictly followed, the pandemic can be controlled in the country. If the country goes into relaxing mode, the infections may rise to 26 lakh new cases in a month in the coming days. The committee had Professors from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Indian Institute of Science. The committee warned the people to be extra cautious during the upcoming festival season. The committee also said that there is no need for the lockdown to be imposed unless there is a danger of health care facilities.
The report told that the active cases reached a peak in September and this happened because of an early comprehensive lockdown. A study was conducted that is based on 'Progression of COVID-19 Pandemic in India: Prognosis and Lockdown Impacts'. The report also said that the situations are still under control because of the lockdown imposed in the country. Else there would be a peak-load of over 140 lakh cases in June. Several prominent scientists and academicians from IIT-Hyderabad, IIT-Kanpur, ISI Kolkata, CMC Vellore, IISC Banglore, NIV Pune and NIE Chennai. The total tally of coronavirus cases in the country now reached the 75.5 lakh mark and the recovery rate is at 88.3 percent.
