Kuchipudi Exponent Sobha Naidu Is No More:- Critically acclaimed Kuchipudi dancer Sobha Naidu passed away today in a private hospital in Hyderabad. The 64-year-old dancer was unwell for some time and was undergoing treatment for brain hemorrhage. A native of Anakaplly, Andhra Pradesh, Sobha Naidu turned out to be an exponent of Kuchipudi dance and was trained especially under Vempati Chinna Satyam. Sobha Naidu also worked as the Principal of Kuchipudi Art Academy in Hyderabad from the year 1980. Vipranarayana, Kalyana Srinivasam, Sri Krishna Saranam Mama, Vijayosthuthe Naari, Ksheera Saagara Madhanam, Sarvam Saimayam, Jagadaananda Kaaraka, Girija Kalyaanam, Swami Vivekananda and Navarasa Natbamini are some of her best works.
Sobha Naidu did the roles of Chandalika, Satyabhama, Padmavathi, Devadevaki, Sao Baba, Parvathi and Mohini in her stage performances. Sobha Naidu is busy hosting a classical dance training program named 'Sadhana' which is telecasted in Sri Venkateswara Bhakti Channel. Telugu states are left in shock with the sudden demise of Sobha Naidu. She was the recipient of various awards including Padma Shri. Megastar Chiranjeevi expressed his condolences on the demise of Sobha Naidu. AP Governor Biswa Bhusan Harichandan lauded her works and expressed his grief. The last rites of Sobha Naidu will take place tomorrow. Rest in Peace Sobha Naidu.
