YS Jagan Writes to Modi Requesting Bharat Ratna for SP Balasubrahmanyam

YS Jagan Writes to Modi Requesting Bharat Ratna for SP Balasubrahmanyam:- The country's legendary singer SP Balasubrahmanyam breathed his last recently and the entire nation is left in a stage of shock with his demise. SP Balasubrahmanyam hails from Nellore district and he is settled in Chennai. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy wrote a letter to Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of the country requesting a Bharat Ratna for SP Balasubrahmanyam for his exceptional contribution to cinema. YS Jagan reminded that SP Balasubrahmanyam is the recipient of several awards along with Padma Shri and Padma Bhushan. SP Balasubrahmanyam received six national awards along with 25 Nandi awards and other state awards along with a Filmfare award.

YS Jagan reminded that music stalwarts like Lata Mangeshkar, Bhupen Hazarika, MS Subbulakshmi, Bismillah Khan, Bhimsen Joshi have been conferred with Bharat Ratna. "As a tribute to the legendary singer for his outstanding contribution in the field of music and art, I request you to confer Bharat Ratna award for SP Balasubrahmanyam. This will be the highest recognition to his remarkable work which lasted for five decades and it stays in our memory forever" told YS Jaganmohan Reddy in his letter to Narendra Modi. SP Balasubrahmanyam sang 40,000 songs in 16 Indian languages and he won the Guinness Book of World Records for his outstanding work and singing a record number of songs.
