11 Killed in a Fire Accident in Vijayawada COVID Care Facility:- In a major fire break out in Vijayawada that took place during the wee hours of today, 11 patients who are being treated in a COVID facility passed away. Some others suffered injuries and are rushed to Ramesh Hospitals. The fire breakout took place in Swarna Palace Hotel in the city which was converted to coronavirus facility centre and was taken on lease by Ramesh Hospitals based in Vijayawada. Around 50 patients are being treated in Swarna Palace from the past few weeks. The fire tenders rushed to the spot and the incident took place at 5 AM as per the patients.
The primary investigation said that the accident took place due to short circuit. Thick smoke surrounded all over and there are some of the patients who are being treated for respiratory problems. Many of them screamed for help and 11 people lost their lives because of the accident. AP Health Minister Alla Nani rushed to the spot and inquired about the accident. Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his shock over the accident and he spoke to AP Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy over the phone. He asked the government to be extra cautious and take care of the patients.

Around 30 people were rescued in total and fire was brought into control in just 25 minutes. With the stair cases catching fire, the patients were brought outside using ladders. There was no fire exit for the building. AP Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy ordered a probe in the incident and asked the officials to submit a detailed report soon.
