After Gurugram, Desert Locusts Reach Delhi Outskirts:- The crop-destroying desert locusts are leaving the farmers across the country sleepless. After attacking Rajasthan, Gujarat and moving to Southern states, the desert locusts entered Gurugram this morning. They now reached the outskirts of Delhi. The Gurugram and Delhi residents shot multiple videos that are now viral all over the internet and the social media platforms. Thousands of locusts have been spotted covering the sky near the Cyber Hub region of Gurugram today. They soon reached Delhi's Chhatarpur. The government of Haryana already issued a high alert after the desert locusts entered Rewari and Gurugram.

Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai called for an emergency meeting to discuss about the situation and the steps to be taken. He directed the administration to be alert. The government of Delhi asked the people across the state to keep their windows closed and cover the plants with plastic sheets if possible. Household insecticides like melathion or chloropyriphos are asked to apply in the households. There are talks that the desert locusts headed towards Palwal in Haryana and a small portion of them entered into Delhi. The District Magistrates of South, West and South West districts in Delhi have been asked to be on high alert.
