Rs 16 Cr Worth Tickets Sold By Indian Railways On Day 2:- The Indian Railways will be operating trains starting from today from the national capital New Delhi covering the major cities of the country. The IRCTC server got crashed yesterday after which the site was reopened at 6 PM. As per the official news, 82,000 passengers booked tickets across the 30 special trains in the country. The officials said that the total PNRs are said to be 45,553 and the Indian Railways earned Rs 16,15,63,821 with the ticket sales on Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) website.
The train services resumed today after two months due to coronavirus lockdown. The first train will start today from New Delhi to Bilaspur at 4 PM. This is said to be the biggest break in the 167-year history of Indian Railways. The bookings were opened yesterday. All the operational trains are said to be air-conditioned and the ticket fares are equivalent to Rajadhani fares. Special health guidelines are issued for all the passengers and social distancing is a must. Apart from online booking, the reservation counters are opened in selected stations across the country.
Tickets can be booked a maximum of seven days in advance and only confirmed ticketed passengers will be allowed to travel. Online cancellation will be permitted up to 24 hours and the cancellation charges are said to be 50%.
