No Salaries For SpiceJet Pilots For April And May:- SpiceJet, India's domestic flyer today announced that its pilots will not be getting any salaries for the months of April and May. All those who are working on cargo flights will be paid for the number of hours they are flown informed. SpiceJet has been under huge financial stress for some time and it took the call because of the low cash reserves and after being hit by coronavirus outbreak. On the other side, Indigo informed that it would pay full salaries for the month of April.
SpiceJet Chief of Flight Operations, Captain Gurcharan Arora wrote to the pilots informing about the same. He said that they are preparing to operate once the lockdown gets lifted by the government. 16% of the aircrafts of SpiceJet are flying through cargo operations. SpiceJet is in plans to expand the cargo operations during this crisis time. Air India pilots complained about the flying allowances that are pending for February. The aviation industry is badly hit due to coronavirus and the flights are canceled from the past 40 days in the country. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will take the final call on the lockdown on May 3rd.
