Centre Transfers Rs 31,000 Cr For The Poor:- Under Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Package (PMGKP), around 33 crore beneficiaries are given cash support in this crucial coronavirus time. The Finance Ministry issued a statement about the same that the amount got deposited on April 22nd across the country. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced the package of Rs 1.7 lakh crores for PMGKP package on March 26th to protect the poor in this lockdown period. The government announced cash payment for the women, farmers and poor senior citizens along with food grains. 40.05 lakh tonnes of food grains are lifted to 36 states and union territories.

1.9 tonnes of pulses are dispatched to all the states. 2.66 crore gas cylinders are delivered till date. 6.06 lakh members of EPFO can benefit to withdraw the advance amount of Rs 1954 crores. Rs 1000 crores for 78.74 lakh EPFO account holders have been released. Rs 16,146 crores are released as the first instalment of PM-KISAN who got Rs 2000 per farmer in their accounts. Old age people are transferred Rs 500 and the next instalment will be paid next month. Rs 3497 crores have been released as the financial support for Building and Construction workers across the country.
