Supreme Court's Big Verdict On Women Officers:- The Supreme Court today clarified that the women officers too can sail with the same efficiency as male officers. The Supreme Court cleared the permanent commission for women in Indian Navy and it clarified that men and women should be treated equally. The Supreme Court cancelled the prospective effect of a policy barring women officers inducted before 2008. The Indian government will have to implement permanent commission for the women in the Indian Navy now within three weeks.

Justice DY Chandrachud and his bench said that it would result in a serious miscarriage of justice if the women are denied permanent commission for women. He said that there cannot be any gender discrimination for women officers in the navy. The Supreme Court asked the Indian Navy to treat the men and women officials to be treated equally. Sub-Lieutenant Shivangi joined as the naval woman pilot last year on December 2nd. This is a huge relief for all the women officers.
