AP Legislative Council Refers The Capital Bill to Select Committee

AP Legislative Council Refers The Capital Bill to Select Committee:- The government of Andhra Pradesh received a major setback after the three capital bill has been referred to the select committee by the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council that is dominated by the opposition party TDP. After a debate for five long hours, the Legislative Council wanted the select committee to resolve the issue. The Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council with 58 members had only nine ruling party members and is completely dominated by TDP. The bills are AP Decentralisation and Inclusive Development of All Regions Bill, 2020.

AP Government wants three capitals in the state which is opposed by TDP and other opposition parties. The Assembly passed the bill on Monday despite of the huge protests all over the state. Most of them wanted Amaravati to be retained as the capital of Andhra Pradesh. Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council Chairman M A Sharrif referred both the bills to the select committee. With this AP Government suffered a major setback as the select committee takes three months to submit a detailed report.
