High Tension in Jamia Millia Islamia:- The Citizenship Amendment Bill created high tension across northeastern states of the country and New Delhi. The situations remained tense in Jamia Millia Islamia this morning and several students started leaving to their homes till situations settle down. The cops entered the campus on Sunday after which it turned out to be a battlefield. Many women students left the campus to stay away from these situations. Jamia Millia Islamia university declared winter vacation from today and the examinations are postponed. The holidays will continue till January 5th. Najma Akhtar, the Vice-Chancellor of Jamia Millia Islamia appealed the students to keep calm.
Students at the Aligarh Muslim University clashed with the police after their solidarity march was stopped. Maulana Azad Urdu University from Hyderabad and Banaras Hindu University raised their voices against the attacks. Hundreds of students gathered outside the Police Headquarters. The protests went to the next level after Jamia students staged a protest which ended up as a pitched battle with the cops. They used batons and teargas and over 100 students were detained. All these were released at 3.30 AM today.
