Women Can Now Carry Pepper Spray on Hyderabad Metro:- Hyderabad Metro Rail Authorities clarified that women travelling in the metro can carry pepper spray for self-defense. The decision has been taken after the brutal rape, murder of veterinary doctor Disha recently that shook the nation. Hyderabad Metro Rail Director NVS Reddy said that the instructions have been issued for all the security personnel to allow women to carry pepper spray in Hyderabad Metro for their own safety.

Pepper spray is being allowed in Bengaluru metro from a long time and when questions are raised, Hyderabad Metro too instructed the authorities to allow pepper spray in Hyderabad Metro. Telangana Chief Minister KCR along with his cabinet met to discuss the measures to be taken for women safety in the state. KCR ordered the cops to respond on an immediate basis if any missing complaint gets registered. Telangana cops already have been bringing awareness among the people about the toll-free numbers and Hawk-Eye mobile application for the safety of women.
