Election Commission In Plans To Use Ballot Papers In Nizamabad Polls:- After nine years, for the first time The Election Commission is in plans to bring back ballot papers concept for Nizamabad Lok Sabha polls alone after a record number of 185 members filed nominations for the polls. Telangana witnessed 545 nominations and among them 185 filed their nominations for Nizamabad Parliament segment. Around 200 nominations have been filed against the sitting MP Kalvakuntla Kavithaa after the farmers felt that they are ignored for demanding a National Turmeric Board in the region.
The Election Commission conducted a scrutiny and finalized 185 candidates eligible for the polls. With huge number in the list, it is not possible to conduct the election through EVMs and hence the Chief Election Officer E Rajat Kumar decided to go ahead with ballot papers. EVMs can accomodate upto 64 candidates per constituency including NOTA. With this big surprise, we have to wait to see if Kavitha retains her position of loses for the heat of the farmers.
