CBI To File Chargesheet Against Chidambaram:- The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) sought the permission of the Centre for prosecution sanction against former Finance Minister P Chidambaram in the investigation that is going in INX Media case on Foreign Investment Promotion Board (FIPB) clearance that was given to INX Media in the year 2007. CBI is all set to file a chargesheet against the veteran Congress leaders once they get the approval from the Centre. CBI filed an FIR accusing Chidambaram and his son Karthi Chidambaram regarding the irregularities on May 15th 2017. The investigation on this is on regarding the clearance of receiving Rs 305 crores as a foreign investment.

Karti was arrested last year but was out on bail. CBI accused Karti of receiving Rs 10 lakhs as bribe initially but the amount was quoted as Rs 6.5 crores later. Money laundering cases have been registered on Karti and he has been questioned several times. The Enforcement Directorate attached Rs 54 crore worth properties of Karti Chidambaram in this case. INX Media directors Peter and Indrani Mukerjea met Chidambaram for FIPB approval when he was the Finance Minister of the country.
