1400 Dead Across India Due To Rains: Union Home Ministry:- The Union Home Ministry revealed that over 1400 people lost their lives this year due to the heavy rains across the country in the past three months. National Emergency Response Centre revealed the numbers. Kerala floods alone killed 488 people informed NERC calling this monsoon one of the most destructive one in the history. Kerala suffered massive losses and it is estimated to be over Rs 19,500 crores. Uttar Pradesh registered the second highest number of deaths this year due to rains losing 254 lives.
West Bengal recorded the third highest number of deaths at 210 and 170 people lost their lives in Karnataka. 386 people have been injured in various incidents due to rains, floods and landslides across the country. 43 people have been missing and there has been no information found. The whole country donated for Kerala flood victims and prayed for its recovery. 107487 people have lost their lives due to floods and heavy rains between 1953 and 2017 as per the data presented in Rajya Sabha this year.
