NOTA Cannot Be Allowed In RS Polls Says Supreme Court:- The Supreme Court today ruled out saying that NOTA (None of the above) option cannot be allowed in Rajya Sabha elections as it would undermine the democracy's purity. A bench of Chief Justice Dipak Misra, Justice A.M. Khanwilkar and Justice D.Y. Chandrachud revealed their decision today saying that NOTA can serve as an exlixir in direct elections but not in Rajya Sabha polls. NOTA will serve as the satan of defection and corruption in Rajya Sabha polls revealed the bench.

The Election Commission issued a notification recently on introducing NOTA in Rajya Sabha elections after which the bench revealed their decision calling it destroying the democratic value. Though it may look interesting, things will not work practically in Rajya Sabha polls. The Supreme Court reminded that Rajya Sabha polls are not direct elections and fairness will be defeated if NOTA is implemented.
